Orion International is part of the European network of hotels and apartments hotels. Last year its representatives signed a contract with a Slovak development company CREDO. This year they are preparing a construction of their first common project in Liptovský Mikuláš in the northern Slovakia.
Orion International belongs to the group Pierre et Vacances gathering number of hotel networks, recreation, spa and entertainment resorts as well as senior houses. After forty years of its existence the P&V administers more than 48,000 apartments in 335 hotels and residence buildings with annual earnings higher than EUR 1.5 billions (2007). After strengthening its position in the West Europe the Orion International comes to the market in the North Africa, Asia (China, Vietnam) and focuses on the Central and East European countries where it gradually overtakes the existing hotels under its management and prepares new projects in cooperation with local developers to establish an international sister of Citéa network, the leader on the French market with urban apartments hotel.
Exactly a year ago, at the end of April 2008, an agreement on exclusive co-operation on the Slovak market was signed in Paris by Pierre Llaty, Director General of Orion International and RNDr. Daniel Dobrota, President of CREDO Group with its seat in Liptovský Mikuláš. Peter Molitoris, Orion International Manager for Central Europe says: “The planned project Live Centre in Liptovský Mikuláš as well as the recreation resort Sunrise at Liptovská Mara are the first results of the mutual co- -operation. Except of these two projects we have been assessing various options to overtake or to build apartment hotels in Bratislava, Košice, Nitra, Banská Bystrica and Žilina.” According to his words there is an increased interest mainly in this form of accommodation because especially the business clients prefer it instead of hotels of higher category due to saving measures. The inter-annual income increase and the occupancy rate increase of urban apartment hotels within the group Pierre et Vacances in first two months also confirm it, although the economic situation is rather complicated.
